Operation Steps:

Step1.

Open daylight plate, and place 2-3 drops of sandard solution on the prism. Put the standard gass on the sample and let the solution spreads aross the entire surface of the prism and the undrside of the standard glass without air bubbles or dy spots. Allow the sample on the prism for appximately 30 seconds before going to step2.

(THIS ALLOW THE SAMPLE TO ADJUST TO THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE OF THE REFRACTOMETER.)

Step 2.

Hold daylitht plate in the direction of a light source and look into the eyepiece. You will see a circular field with graduations down the center ( you may have to focus the eyepiece to clearly see the graduations ). The upper portion of the field should be blue, while the lower portion should be white. ( The pictures showed here and showed in step 3 and step 4 are only as reference. The right specific scale is listed in the roduct.)

Step 3.

Look into the eyepiece and turn the calibration screw until the boundary between the upper blue field and the lower white field meet exactly on the standard scale. Please see the standard datas as list on the right.(The instrument has been calibrated, if the instrument is with ATC, we recommend to delete the calibration.)

Step 4.

Do step 1. Using the specimen of liquids which will be measured as the substitution of standard solution. Then do step 2. And step 3.. When do step 3 again, you can take the reading where the boundary line of blue and white cross the graduated scale. They will provide a direct reading of the Brix concentretion.

ATTENTIONS AND MAINTENANCE

1、The instrument is composed of precise components. You should not dismantle It by yourself. After usage, the instrument should be stored in dry place, in order To protect the instrument from moisture and mildewing which can affect the precision of the instrument.

2、The refractive oil should be stored and sealed. While using it, you should use a thin glass bar to dip into it, don't bring oil into touch with the hand or eye.

3、The intensity of light source should be approximate. It should be suitable to Bright and even viewing field and clear observation.
